I thought it looked like a Child's Play movie. It's a new take but you have the same doll with the same person inhabiting him with the same actor doing the voice. How much different or standoutish can they make it at this point? It's newer with a new cast and they have to try to do it different. May not work for everyone. I was liking it a bit more before the trailer, but it still looks like a Child's Play film to me, and I guess that's what they're after.

I guess they just want to see if they can get people to watch another Child's Play film?

You have a whole new generation out there that might not know the original, and fans that hated the last ones and would like to see it go on, but not suck, lol. I think people will see this, but if the idea was to reinvent the entire series, they should have made a lot more changes. Never know fans, they may eat it up, or ish all over it. I like to think I'm the average Joe horror fan, and I'd watch the DVD of this. No way would I see it in the theater, but that's just me.

Most of my 5th grade students know who Chucky is. Not like this generation hasn't seen the original movies. Now they're just giving them a new film to bug me with.

My kids know Chucky, but only from the later films. I thought the Child's Play films were the best with the original and part 2. You can't like the series based off of the last two or three, IMO. That's what I would tell my kids anyway, lol. It was almost like the Nightmare on Elm Street series, they lost the darkness that made the original so good.
