I'm very iffy about this. I love the movies and character, and I'm gonna watch this, but I'm wary.

I don't even know if we're going to watch it. Maybe.

Another prequel show? Come on man! I'm definitely not watching this.

I was browsing Netflix this morning and saw that both seasons of Hannibal were added. I dismissed the show when I first heard about it because I thought it would suck. Yeah, no. I've pretty much been watching this all day. On episode 8. Such an awesome show. Solid acting, writing and special effects. Definitely worth watching.

Don't knock it 'till you try it. Having enjoyed the Hannibal of Silence of the Lambs and having been rather iffy on the Will Grahm of Red Dragon, I threw caution to the wind and gave the series a shot. There was only half or so of season one out at that point. I ended up watching it all in one night. While waiting for the next episode, I read Red Dragon again.
And boy do I like the characters in Hannibal better. Brilliantly written. The show itself has a nice periodical-but-also-not kind of feel to it. They cast the right people and the changes they made to the characters were actually well done. And the special effects? Wonderful. Chilling. A certain episode involving bees took a xanax for me to get through.
A prequel? Sort of. But Grahm had only a brief interaction with Hannibal before his capture. A lot of things that happen in the show could not have happened in the books and so, in all honesty, this should be taken as completely separate from the books (this is probably obvious).
Anyway, to make a long post short... It's pretty good. Or at least, worth a chance. :3

Now that I'm back on Netflix streaming I may check it out. Heard a lot of good things about it. I've found that it's hard not to plow through an entire season of a show on there if I like it. My wife found the show Capture on Hulu Plus and we blew through the whole first and only(?) season.

@endo Yes, please do. It's probably my favorite show on TV right now. Which I probably say about a lot of shows, so take that with a grain of salt.
What's Capture about? Sounds intriguing.
But yeah. Being caught up is worse. I binge watch an entire series and then... Oops there's the season finale. Next week. It's awful.

Capture is twelve teams of two, each a different color...blue, black, gold etc. They compete as "prey" and "hunter" teams. One hunter team is chosen at random and over the course of two 4 hour hunt days the hunt team has to capture two prey teams. One of the prey teams will be voted off. If the hunter team doesn't capture two prey teams before the end of the second hunt day, they are automatically eliminated. The hunt takes place in a wilderness area consisting of forest and high ground. Really fun show.
