This quickly becoming a ridiculous reality. The owners are saying the players make too much money and they, as owners, don't make enough. The players are hitting back with no health benefits offered to them if they become seriously injured or disabled playing.
So, the obvious answer? Let's not play at all and make no money, which is completely the most backward answer you could have to everyone's argument.
Fight about money all you want NFL, but the revenue you will lose in just one season of nothing will be massive. Someone better get thinking right and get this ironed out. I wanna see my Redskins lose next season dammit!!

Apparently a judge has ended the lockout. The owners have appealed, but the judge has denied the appeal. So, unless something else stupid happens, training camps and the draft should begin soon. And, we should have football next year. Fingers crossed.

Back to no football. Now they're talking about an 8 week season starting in November. Why bother? I don't see how that's fair to teams that peak late in the season and make a playoff run.
Half a season is better than nothing I guess, but a lot of teams are going to be hurt by the short season playoff wise. What a joke.

Actually Tony, it's the owners who are being the real jerks now. The players have agreed several times to adjust the pay they receive so it's 50/50 with them and the owners, in the big scheme of things. It all breaks down really weird. But the owners keep refusing to accept it, wanting a 60/40 deal their way. Which is ridiculous when you consider last season it was 60/40 with the players earning more.
I thought 50/50 was a very fair deal considering last season, but the owners are getting greedy, and now it's going to cost the NFL millions in lost revenue, and the teams that won't play until Nov. are losing a ton as well.
Just a really stupid thing that could have been a non issue by now if the 50/50 deal had gone through. I'm a die hard Skins fan, been watching since I was little. I gotta tell you, I'm pissed off about this whole deal.

Yeah, once they hit the NFL it's all about the money. Which is a shame. It's like they lose the focus of the game, which should be their love of playing, and wanting their team to be the best. It just becomes all about money. Not saying they don't deserve to paid well for what they do, they are professionals. But, it get's to be so much about money that the game takes a back seat. That's what pisses me off.
