"England: 1648 AD. A small group of deserters flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. They are captured by two men: O'Neil and Cutler. O'Neil (Michael Smiley), an alchemist, forces the group to aid him in his search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field." www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/field-englandSome time this year.

I don't really know what to make of it based on that description. It doesn't sound awful, just odd. I'll wait for a trailer and take it from there.

Yeah, didn't give me any more of an idea of what this movie is about than I already knew, which was basically nothing.

Even with the trailers I don't have a whole lot of an idea of what this is about. Let me know what you thought of it when you see it. If you liked it I may give it a shot.

I just finished watching this. First of all, I don't think I would put this into the horror genre, though there are definite weird occult vibes happening throughout. The poster made me think of The Witchfinder General, but this it's nothing like it. It may become a cult classic, but it's not really for me. I found it rather self-indulgent and pretentious. There isn't really a plot as such and most of the 90 mins consists of the characters marching around a field. On the plus side, a couple of the performances are quite good (Reece Shearsmith and Michael Smiley), there are some effective B&W shots and one notable scene involving a tent. Yes, this film held my attention, but I came away feeling irritated and without a desire to see it again. Some people may argue that I didn't get it, but I can assure you I did and it's not as clever or brilliant as the creators think it is.

I didn't even want to see it before, and yet somehow your review males me want to see it even less. How is this possible?

Drafthouse Films has picked this up so it will be releasing in the states in theaters and on VOD on February 7th. Don't know if anyone's interested, but there it is. Oh, have another poster too...
