My wife recorded this documentary for me, and it was great. All about Castle's life and the movies he made with all the gimmicks.
The $1000 life insurance policy he offered to movie goers in case Macabre scared them to death, the wired seats in the theater for The Tingler, just a ton of great stuff on this guy who is one of my all time favorite horror directors. It even talks about how he gave in and let Roman Polanski direct Rosemary's Baby, because he knew it would be better for the movie. If you ever come across this, it's a fascinating watch.

That looks great. I wish I could have grown up in the time to experience stuff like that.

My wife and I said the same thing when we were watching it. He seemed like a really cool guy too, would have loved to have hung out with him.

Too bad gimmicks like those can't make a comeback. More than likely someone would sue over something. At least we can look back at this and enjoy what came before.

I'm so glad I found that "ghost viewer" from 13 Ghosts online so cheap. That's one of my most prized possessions.

That is really nice. I'd be proud of it too.

I still want to see the Tingler at a midnight viewing with the chairs.

I'd like to see that too. Hell, just to have a real nurse at a movie, in case you needed attention, would intrigue me.

She should just be walking around, eyeballing fat and old people.
DAMMIT, WOMAN! STOP LOOKING AT ME!

Lol. He was like the P.T. Barnum of horror movies.

All the gimmicks he had in that video are better than 3D.

His movies were schlock, but he sold one heck of a gimmick with each one. I really admired this documentary. This and Corman's World are two great documentaries about the B-movie titans of yore.
