A TV talk-show hostess and her boyfriend investigate a shady magician whom has the ability to hypnotize and control the thoughts of people in order to stage gory on-stage illusions using his powers of mind bending.
So I watched this flick the other day, and while it got to be somewhat repetitive, it still wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen. What happens is that Montag the Magnificent is performing awesome (and gruesome) feats of prestidigitation on "volunteer" ladies of the audience, but after pulling their guts out, and skewering their insides, he waves his hand and they are suddenly ok, that is until a little later when their seemingly faked fates actually happen to them. The show is so magnificent that the tv show host wants Montag on her show to show of his talents, but the real question is, how is he doing this and why are these girls really dying afterword?

This movie is dumb, the effects are terrible, and the ending is absolutely ridiculous. I love it.

*blush* I actually liked this one ... I did get a slight bit like hmmm...that is kinda gross if you think about it feeling, but I loved how good they did the whole wax part to the movie. I, also, like the twilight zone feeling it gave. That and it had some horrible acting in some places, but the storyline really was pretty interesting. I'm not sure if they were all doomed to repeat the same story over and over and over again by the end, but I can say that I probably would watch it again. The only thing I noticed, yet again, was the obsession with eyeballs. I, also, liked how bad soap opera the acting could be (especially mr. magician.) I'll take this one over the gore gore girls anyday.

The acting in an H.G. Lewis movie is always going to be terrible. Some of the actors make you shake your head, but others at least seem to be trying and have a certain type of charm to them.

It wasn't so bad that I couldn't get into the movie, but it had a little humor in it. There's still a couple things I have to make ends of with this movie, but I mean ... for a movie of it's time, you gotta admit that the waxwork was done really good. Like during face and body scenes ... if I wasn't looking for the wax on certain body scenes I might not have even noticed. I'm still wondering about the eye fetish, but maybe it's that people are more sensitive to it. I mean one eye scene made me a little squimish, but it's always the one eyeball hanging out. Since it was a double feature of this and then the gore gore girls, though, I have to say that I would happily watch this one quite more often than the other. Then again, there are so many movies out there that I might not remember much about them later on and have to watch them to remind myself what was going on.

This one is way better than Gore Gore Girls. I can certainly watch this one over and over with no problem.
