I've been wanting to upgrade this to BD for a while now, and now I have a good reason to do so, since this comes with both cuts.

I love that didn't go with the same cover of the priest. Cool decision to go with the steps I think, that's pretty scary looking.

Nice cover. I'm not a huge fan of this film so I won't be buying it, but it does look nice.

I bought this on bluray when i saw it!.. mine is the directors cut only, which is fine because it has the crab walk in it which is what i really want. the extras on mine are pretty cool talks about some deleted scenes and the head spinning all the way around and some effects they did threw out the movie... being titled the scariest movies of all time on any list made this an easy purchase.

The addition of the crab walk was great. Don't know why it was cut from the original.

Maybe they felt it disrupted the flow of the film, or thought it looked kinda silly?

I think it's scary as hell, and it only lasts a few seconds really. This movie got heat when it came out for the religious thing, so maybe they thought back then it was too scary and didn't want to give another reason to be ripped on.

That sounds legit. Considering without that scene it's considered the scariest film of all time and people were up in arms over it, no reason to add more fuel to the fire.

That movie is scary as ish today really, especially given the premise and her mom going through it with her. Plus the stuff that happens to the priest. I don't know if I'd call it my personal scariest ever, but it's up there. Adding in the crab walk to the uncut version made it more freaky for me.

I thought I posted a video link to both versions of the crab walk (yes there are two versions) it was removed due to technology when the film was made the cables holding the actress were clearly visible and not until the 2000 release were they able to remove the cables from the scene.... They also said that the most terrifying part of this film ended up being the hospital scenes where Linda Blair is actually in a hospital having the mri and other test being done on her... Apparently people are still afraid of the doctors

Plus many a horror film has taken place in a hospital. You never know what can happen there.
