We all know he was a huge man, but when you see a picture like this, it can still be...just wow.

No wonder he could kill 100 of those and just feel buzzed.

I always liked Andre "the 8th Wonder of the World" - saw him wrestle many times at MSG & the Nassau Coliseum back in the 70's & early 80's. He made people like Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker and even King Kong Bundy look small by comparison. I always worried he would get hurt though simply from over exerting himself because people his size usually had bad tickers and died young. Here's another perspective - check out Ali's hand vs Andre's hand.

I love reading the stories about him. Like the time he and others were on tour in Japan, and he didn't like Hogan, so every beer he finished he crushed the can and bounced each one off Hogan's head, lol. Then, the time he got into an argument with a motorist and ended up flipping the guy's car over. So many good ones.

Pretty sure most of the Andre stories are true, the guy was a walking phenomenon. I saw him live a few times, but always from way back, would have loved to have met him. From what I hear he was the nicest guy in the world, until you pissed him off.

Him and Tim White were bros. A good bit of these stories came from him. One of the best documentaries on him is the A&E Biography from the 90s.

That was one of the best biographies I ever watched, and that's counting the ones on horror stars. Great show, I need that on disc.

It was a great behind the scenes on him, how much he hated life on the road and the accommodations. It was mostly his friend, Frenchy Bernard's recollections, if I remember right, but there were some great clips in there.

Too bad they never caught his disease. Who knows how much longer he may have lived if it was treated? Either way, at least the guy lived his life to the fullest.
