"Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams died Monday at the age of 63, in a suspected suicide that marked the tragic end of his recent battles with severe depression." linkWow, I knew he had issues with substance abuse in the past, but didn't know it was that bad or that he was going through such depression. I grew up on this guy, really shocked about this. RIP and condolences to his family.

This is depressing. Some of my favorite movies growing up starred his brand of insanity. Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Aladdin... he's always been there to make me laugh in some way. I don't normally get connected to people like this, but some from my childhood still mean something to me, and he was one of them.
You know, I knew one day he would pass in my lifetime. Like I know Stan Lee, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and others will. But I didn't think it would happen so soon.

May do a Robin Williams marathon if I ever get a day off. Definitely be starting with The World According To Garp.

I need to see that one. Need to see a few. At least I got to see the Fisher King years ago.

When we first got cable in my area way back when, they played The World According To Garp over and over again. I watched it every time, great movie.

What Dreams May Come is one of my favorite movies. No one ever mentions that one when they talk about Williams. I think he was fantastic in that film.

I never hear anyone talk about The Final Cut, definitely a different role for him. Something everyone should see once.

Also, one of his best roles was when he was the main villain in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Really one of, if not the best, episode of that show.

The World According to Garp was probably the first Robin Williams movie I ever saw. Much better than the book.
The day before yesterday, I watched "The World's Greatest Dad." That movie made me feel bad, but I kept thinking the whole time "He is a great actor."
Yesterday I watched "Moscow on the Hudson". I liked the first half of it but was bored with the second half...but I still couldn't stop thinking "great actor."
I will probably watch another of his movies today.
Rest in peace.
