Awesome man, this and The Thing should finish up September for me. Thanks. And the knowledge that we suffered together gives me the warm fuzzies...in a scary kind of way of course.

If nothing comes up, Tomas and I should be seeing this in the bar we saw Over the Top in with a few others. This and Troll 2. Which is perfect for the month. I look forward to seeing this again for shits and giggles and booze.

Because no one should suffer alone What a great tagline! That would be perfect to see on a horror poster. Not for this film, but an actually terrifying film.
Anyway, this is probably Ed Wood's "best" film, if you use the term 'best' loosely.
It is great that he did get to strike up a friendship with Bela Lugosi before the actor's death, but this is a terrible, terrible movie. Having Criswell introduce the movie is a nice touch though.

This movie is the definition of awful, but I love every wretched second of it

Apparently, according to some sources, the Bela Lugosi bits weren't even meant for this film, they were test footage from some vampire movie Wood and Lugosi had planned together to boost Lugosi's stalled career. After Lugosi sadly departed life for real, Wood decided to use all (in total five minutes or less) of the footage he had filmed in Plan 9, and brought in his wife's chiropractor, a certain Mr Mason, as a body double for the dead star, despite Mr Mason having no resemblance whatsoever in height, or body shape, or well in anything to Lugosi; Wood was banking on the fact if Mr Mason held a cape over his face and bent down no one would notice. You wonder if his wife owed Mr Mason money and this was a way of paying off the debt. The more you read about this film the more incredible it is.

I'm sure you all know more about the legendary output of Ed Wood than I do. This is the only one I've seen. Who has braved his other efforts?

I have a 5 movie set of his somewhere. I watched through it once long ago.
I have yet to revisit it and I've sat through some HORRIBLE movies over the years.
Side note, Burton's Ed Wood film is quite good.

Suffer? ?? I actually enjoyed that one, finding it very entertaining! It is not great, but it has its share of fun moments! I think they just advertised it as "The Worst Movie Ever" to get more people interested in seeing it out of curiosity! I have seen a lot of movies that are far worst than this one! For me, it's the cheap crappy looking remakes that just don't do it for me.

Just watched the live Rifftrax from 2009 for this.
And you should, too.
Colorization of this flick doesn't help it in the slightest.

Colorization of this flick doesn't help it in the slightest. I agree. I was given a colourised version of Night of the Living Dead, but I haven't watched it. I don't see the point in doing it.
