Man, still can't get over how good the effects in this are, all these years later. No CGI, all hand done. Fakking Rick Baker man...

No kidding. In my opinion there STILL hasn't been a better werewolf transformation since this one.
Such a great movie.

This movie had all the elements that made it a home run for me. Loved the creepy gallows humor, great casting, awesome shape-shifting scenes, the dream sequences were off the hook, great looking werewolf, good soundtrack. My favorite Lycan movie of all time. OTOH, the sequel, An American Werewolf in Paris - meh.

Yeah occupant, I didn't care for the sequel either. Should have been called something else IMO, didn't feel like a sequel at all, just another movie.

I went in with high expectations and was thoroughly disappointed. I don't even think I would have liked it even if I wasn't anticipating a sequel that lived up to the original.

The less said about AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS the better. I saw it in the theater, and that was the closest I've ever come to walking out. Just wretched. I mean, did they even try to make that thing look like a werewolf? It looked more like a badly-animated shaved ape!

I saw it in the theater as well james, one of the reasons I wait for DVD now.
