Here's a recipe for you. Take two morons, a canister containing a sinister military experiment, two businesses that involve dead things, and a nearby graveyard. Mix them together, and let them simmer for ninety minutes. The results: a spicy dish of meaty zombie goodness.
You see, Frank and Freddy are two workers at a medical supply warehouse. Freddy asks Frank what kind of weird things have happened there, and before long they are fooling around with the corpse container that isn't nearly as secure as purported. This leads to a rather cataclysmic series of events. Also soon to be involved in the chaos are the owner of the warehouse, a mortician, a gang of teenage punks, and scores of random people who are shocked to find out they are on the menu.
These aren't your typical shambling cadavers. They run. They talk (and scream). They make plans and use tools to secure their favourite snack. What is that culinary delight, you ask? Why, your brains of course! Now be a dear and rub barbecue sauce on your cranium.
This has been my favourite zombie movie for nearly thirty years now. Sure, it's dumb and cheesier than a large pizza. It is also in your face, more fun than a box of slinkies, and has some genuine creepy moments. That scene where Ernie discovers it isn't weasels in those bangs has caused many a shiver. And who can forget Freddy telling Tina how she can prove she loves him?
Yes, of course there are flaws. How does the gas affect the nervous system of a skeleton with not a shred of meat on it? It is unlikely a reanimated confederate soldier will know what a paramedic is, let alone how to use a two-way radio. These faults are easily forgiven though, when you are in the middle of an exciting thrill ride.
So, if you have yet to experience this movie, pull up a dusty chair, slap it into a vcr (the best way to watch it), and tape back your eyelids to make sure you don't miss a single malevolent moment. This one gets an enthusiastic Shard Seal of Approval.

One of my favorite movies for a long time too, I remember watching it when it first hit VHS. Great review man, loved it.

I've got eight or nine reviews over at my fairly much abandoned forum. If you like, I can bring them over here.

That shouldn't be a problem at all.
