This is a shame. He died from complications to a surgery he was having. All I know right now, but I'm just saddened.
2017 has hit us hard already.

Yeah, was blown away to find out about this earlier. Apparently it was heart surgery and he had a stroke afterwards. Damn shame, liked him a lot. RIP.

I woke up to this news and went right back to sleep because I couldn't accept it. He was one of my favorite actors, so this was so painful for me.

It was just so unexpected, didn't see this one coming at all. Really sucks.

So, so bummed about this. Great actor. Great director (is there a more underrated horror film from the last 15 years than FRAILTY?). I sure would have liked to have seen his dream project get off the ground (an adaptation of THE BOTTOMS by Joe Lansdale, my favorite writer -- what a wonderful pairing). Such a loss.

I agree with what everyone has already said. I was surprised to hear it as well, we were watching his new TV show also (Training Day). I'd always loved him in Twister also.

My favorite actor ever. I always loved him, but didn't realize what a hero he was to me until he died. He wasn't often the star, but he made everything better in all his small roles, and whenever he was one of the main characters, he always stole the show. I barely noticed a thread was made about him here, sorry about the late arrival. But it hit harder for me than any celebrity that ever passed when I learned of this. I think part of it is because when I was a younger, he reminded me of my Dad in a lot of ways. Particularly in the movie Twister. They look a bit alike, and his character in that movie kind of reminded me of my Dad at the time the movie came out, so I kind of just associated them together. I never had any idea that he'd become my all time favorite actor over the years of discovering his films. Near Dark has got to be my #1 movie of his, edging out Twister. I actually just made this Paxton-inspired banner a couple of days ago.

Yeah Jason, I liked him a lot. The wife and I were watching Weird Science the other night for the first time in a long time. Forgot he was in it, and was hit all over again when he appeared as Chet. Sad, sad loss. Great actor.
