Anyone remember the Beltway Snipers? They were two men who went on a shooting/murder spree in the Washington DC area back in 2002. I lived in the general area at the time, and this story was all over the news and it was all that anyone talked about. It was really a scary time. Here's an interesting article about it with lots of pictures...but be warned, some of the pictures at the end show blood and people who have been shot. here |

I live in the DC area as well and remember this clearly. I remember people sitting on the ground behind their cars when they got gas. It was scary as ish, because the shootings were so random.

Yeah, I was one of those people sitting or crouching behind my car when pumping gas. I was always nervous whenever I was outside. I remember what a relief it was when they were finally caught. Very scary time.
