What types of games do you love and what type do you hate?
Personally, I'm a fan of fighting games and hack and slasher action/adventure games. I play the occasional FPS as well but I'm not a fan of sports games or RPG's.
My favorite fighting series is Street Fighter, though i also enjoy Tekken and am really digging the new Mortal Kombat.
As for action and adventure, I grew up loving the Ninja Gaiden series and am currently a major fanboy of Uncharted.

Silent Hill and all the sequeals get my vote. Play these in the dark after ingesting alcohol and proceed to freak yourself out. love it Love Tekken, addicted to Sims (saddo I know), will give most things a try actually. But no I dont do sports either.

But no I dont do sports either. Quite a few people I know are addicted to Sims, so don't feel bad about that. I'm currently playing through Resistance 2 since I borrowed the first 2 from a friend. Not big on FPS games but this one is just really fun to me. I guess anything would be after that horrible experience with Duke Nukem Forever.

Mainly Madden and Nascar anymore, but I used to be big on the survival horror. Resident Evil is my favorite series, then Silent Hill. Love those games. But, yeah. Love Madden.

Here is my list of best and worst games I have ever played from another forum:
Best
Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Great graphic, great music and well...it's Mario! Everything you loved about the series is even better here. A classic.
Ninja Gaiden 2 (Xbox 360 and NES) - 2 completely different games, but both awesome in every way. The NES version is my favorite game of all time. Cool magic, awesome soundtrack, and the cut scenes just blew my mind when I first saw them. There was nothing like it back then. The Xbox version has cool weapons, insane boss fights and tons of gore and dismemberment. Both games are hard as hell too.
Mutant League Football (Sega Genesis) - Even if you're not into sports, you can play this. Teams consist of robots, super humans, aliens, skeletons and trolls. You can bribe the ref, kill players and have to be weary of hazards like landmines, rocks and thin ice. It's simple and hilarious.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 - A huge and great lineup of characters, gorgeous graphics, wonderful gameplay and cool super moves. What more could you want in a fighting game? My favorite in the series.
Guilty Gear X2 - Another great 2D fighter. The character list wasn't huge, but everybody looked and played differently, the soundtrack was amazing (can't go wrong fighting to squealing guitars) and the ultra finishers ranged from awesome to downright hilarious.
Capcom vs. SNK 2 - Now this is how you do a crossover! Characters from multiple series of rivaling companies, a varied selection of fighting styles, cool stages, hidden characters and balanced fighting. When another company takes YOUR characters and makes them fight better then you ever did, that shows how great they are. One of Capcom's best.
Worst
BlazBlue - I HATE HATE HATE this game! I was excited because it was from the makers of Guilty Gear (a series I hold dear) but man did it suck! I felt like it played too slow, the super moves were lame and it just bored me to tears. I hated this game so much that I literally returned it the day after I bought it.
SVC Chaos (Arcade) - Capcom vs SNK as done by SNK, and boy did it ever suck! Dated and muddy graphics, broken controls (if I can't do a super or even certain basic moves I've done millions of times, something is way off) and IMPOSSIBLY hard boss fights make for a completely miserable experience. Speaking of that...
King of Fighters 12 - Another SNK turd. They changed the graphics and somehow made them worse, there were only 5 stages to fight in, a mere 22 playable fighters (when it's a 3 vs 3 fighter, 22 is paltry) and no final boss! Absolute rubbish.
Teenage Mutant Nnja Turtles (NES) - Just horrible in every way. No Turtles theme anywhere, impossible platforming, and Raphael was completely useless.
Turtles In Time: Reshelled (PS3 and 360) - How do you take the best beat'em up game of all time and make it suck? Make the graphics bad, turn the music generic and make the hit detection horrendous.

The absolute worst game I ever played was called Hybrid Heaven for the N64. That game was awful, beginning to end. Supposed to be a fighting game I think, but it...just came out bad. The sad thing is I played it til I beat it, cause I'm kinda OCD like that. That was a bad few weeks.

I still have mine and bust it out from time to time. Can't go wrong with the classics.
