well its that time again need a new laptop and i have no idea what to get. Now i wont say for sure but i may get fancy and play some games on this one every now and then but that wont be its main purpose. it will be a straight forward my designs and coding. now i know i spend all day working on computers and i understand ram, processor, graphics card, ect. but when it gets down to models and small numbers that make huge differences i have no idea what im doing or looking for. and i really dont trust anyone at the store for reason on just a huge commission. i have been looking into alienware because i do know if it says dell or mac it usually can handly design in there but i dont want to rebuy a bunch of software when switching over to mac so thats out of the picture i need a good size screen lots of space and speed. anyone here know computers and how i should go about my purchase.... 2,000 is the limit

Check Tiger Direct Tony. $2000 can buy you a beast of a laptop, but you may find one that will do what you want for way less. The have a desktop PC I want with a core i5 processor, 8GB of ram and a 1TB HDD for $499. No graphics card, but I can use the one out of my current PC. Heck, I can buy another and install them both, it's set up to crossfire. But yeah, that will scream right out of the box.
Can't go wrong with Alienware from what I've read, never used one though.
