I thought this was just a one song collaboration, but apparently it's a whole album with Reed and Metallica. Heard the first track today on 98 Rock, and wow...I freaking hated it. WTF are they doing? I thought with Death Magnetic they were back on track, back to metal. How about putting out another album for your fans since they're all pushing 50? How about getting into the studio and keeping the wave going with some new material? Don't get me wrong. They can do anything they want, obviously. But, this is so bad and so far out of their realm. The song I heard was just...bad. I'm as big a Metallica fan as any, and all I can do is scratch my head. I just, wow. www.loureedmetallica.com/

Death Magnetic won back a lot of fans after the disappointment that was Saint Anger. Why they decided to do this...I have no idea. Maybe they need to get back on the drugs and alcohol to make good music again.
Who would have guessed being sober would cause this band to make terrible decisions?

I knew they hooked up with Reed at the RnR HOF, and did a song together for the show. OK, no biggie. And, I know they've collaborated with other artists before, like the thing with Swizz Beats.
But a whole album with Lou Reed? A whole freaking album??? I wish I knew who said,"This sounds like a great idea". I won't be buying this one. Hell, I won't even download this one. As the 98 Rock deejay said in between laughing at this, "well, they don't have to worry about anyone stealing this. It sucks."

Wow man, that's harsh. When the DJ who plays your music says it sucks, you've officially hit rock bottom. I can't wait to hear about how this is easily the worst selling album in their discography.

It's a Lou Reed album...with Metallica. Reed wrote the songs and arranged them. They might be good if it was just him. But, you hear Reed singing over some semi heavy guitar, and then James kicks in and it's like two different songs. Doesn't mesh together at all. I think Reed will take the heat if it bombs, but still. I can see a song or two together, but a whole album? I don't get it.

I know sometimes you hear about 2 artists making a song together that doesn't make sense to you. Sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't, but in the end it's normally just a song or 2. A whole album though is just ridiculous.
I'm wondering who approached who with this project. I also have to wonder who exactly this album is being marketed to. I'm pretty sure nobody ever thought to themselves "You know, I like Lou Reed and I like Metallica. I wish they would get together and make an album."

Lol, yeah exactly. What fan of either would want to hear this? I own every Metallica album ever put out and am proud of my collection of bootlegs I've gathered over the years. I don't even want this just to say I have it. I don't want it at all. Not at all.

You and every other true Metallica fan. I'm sure it will sell a few copies and perhaps even a handful of people might like it. This album will forever be a head scratcher to 99 of us of though.

I can't even remember the song...or songs he's famous for. Oh, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. That's the one.
