Well, I don't know if I agree with this at all.
The Hellblazer I've read I never really found scary. Same with Hellboy, but I haven't read as much of that as I like.
I haven't read Gideon Falls (but I plan on it, I've been meaning to catch up on Image released for a while now). Never heard of Wolf Moon. I'll look it up. I have the first 2 trades of Fatale, so they just bumped closer to the top of my to read list.
I started Nailbiter but fell off. I should get back on that with a sequel series out now.
30 Days of Night, yeah, that's a good one. Helps that Niles does well with horror storytelling.
I find it funny that there's an advertisement for "5 Comics That Prove Scott Snyder Is a Master of Horror" but none of his comics made THIS list.
I think Alan Moore's Swamp Thing probably belongs on this list more than any of the others. But it looks like the site only focuses of more recently released books.

I haven't read any of these. I did finish Strange Embrace from the other post, and it was pretty good. Solid for 7 of the 8 issues, but the ending was kind of weak.
I'll check a few of these out too.

As for that list, I never finished The Wake or American Vampire. Just wasn't jiving with those, I might revisit in the future. Never read Severed. I planned on it but it got lost in the shuffle.
Wythches is good, but I think I like it more for Jock's art rather than the story, but I am looking forward to the sequel that should be coming out soon (if the delay in comics these last few months haven't crushed it).
Swamp Thing I HIGHLY recommend! That, along with Jeff Lemire's Animal Man are a beautiful horror 1-2 punch within the superhero realm. Although it is from the New 52 reboot, it still takes elements of the original series' pre-reboot and doesn't stray too far from that. I must note however I prefer Animal Man to Swamp Thing from these series. Lemire just killed it.

I finished the first issue of Hellblazer. NDX is it different stories or does the whole series revolve around the initial issues story? I don't know if I could go 300 issues just on that premise, so just wondering. But, the first issue was OK. BTW, it might have gotten overlooked, but a little while back Smeets posted a fantastic link to a site where you can read pretty much any comic you want...
It's my go to now, even for the old EC comics.

Depends on the writer. The first 40 or so issues are fine, but can drag. I felt the same for the Ennis issues, and I never got past that. Why I don't currently own the collected editions.
I don't think Hellblazer is bad, some of it was very good. But overall not something I'd revisit often. Not like Marvel's Tomb of Dracula or DC's Swamp Thing. At least Alan Moore and beyond Swamp Thing.
I use that site near daily. It's the best for older releases. I also use readcomicsonline.ru for new releases.
