Sisters by Brian De Palma staring Margot Kidder.
This is supposed to have cult status and a lot of people like this film. I can see the appeal. Since it was also one of De Palma's first movies I have to back off on criticizing it too much. It was good, not great. I'd watch it a couple more times. It's not NOTLD or anything though (that I could watch 1 million times). Margot Kidder was awesome. She really did everything right. I have a crush on her. I want to see more films with her in it. All I know of her is Amityville and Sisters.

Margot Kidder is also in the original Black Christmas from 1974 and another Canadian horror film called "There Is Always Someone Watching" or something like that. If you want to include non-horror films, she is also in the Superman series with Christopher Reeve playing Superman.

I was thinking of picking this up this month from the Criterion Collection sale going on over at B&N.

classichorrorfan I keep seeing Black Christmas, but haven't watched it yet. It's on my radar. NDX I mean it's not great. It would be nice to have the criterion though. there's some nice kills, the story's not bad. Margot Kidder would be the best part of the film.

True. I buy mostly VHS now, but it's one of those movies that's hard to find on VHS and expensive, so I might just get it on DVD. I have Silent Night Bloody Night 1 through 5.

Are you thinking of Silent Night, Deadly Night? There's only one Silent Night, Bloody Night with John Carradine. there is a loose sequel from recent years, but I don't recommend the sequel. It looks like it was shot via cell phone camera, which is not good. Just stick with the original. Another great classic Christmas horror film is Don't Open 'Til Christmas. It's like Silent Night, Deadly Night meets Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer.

my bad, yeah silent night, deadly night on VHS. I don't know much about the films I just know they're obscure and I can't get enough of the obscure one's (not to say some of the common one's don't have value). Going to research them. If I can find the time. Nobody in the whole universe has time anymore.

Obscure is something that is not clear or understandable. Silent Night, Bloody Night is not obscure either, but you do have to pay attention and think a little to get what is actually happening in the story. That last one also applies to the original Black Christmas from 1974.

True. Obscure might not be the word. I mean a movie that not too many people know about so the movie has faded into "obscurity" because nobody cares anymore or understands or are too busy with modern blockbusters. So in that sense I mean obscure. I like the movies that only a few people have seen, some of them good, some of them are a waste of time.

There are actually still a lot of people who still like the Silent Night Deadly Night, Silent Night Bloody Night and Black Christmas films. That's only today's mainstream who only care about today's major blockbusters and think only their opinions matter.
