I finally got to see this one, and I'm glad I did. This starts off both interesting and entertaining, and it manages to keep up with that all the way through. It also has a lot of jump scares here and there that are very well done. It is also very creative with the hand made death traps used with only items from nature, and nothing machine made or store bought. It is different from the other "Wrong Turn" movies, but it has a similar look and vibe as well as a reference to it about movie night featuring a movie about inbred cannibals killing off people in rural West Virginia. There is also an interesting backstory about the Foundation who moved to the rural isolated mountains a few years before the Civil War began, to get away from how the United States were becoming, and to set and live their own way of life. When getting near the end, there are so many twists and turns, making it unpredictable on what happens next, even after the credits start to roll. I won't get into detail on anything to avoid any spoilers. Other than there being no inbred cannibals in this reboot/loose sequel, it should not disappoint those into the original series.

See, I didn't care for this movie. There are others here that liked it too, and it just did nothing for me. I wanted the inbred cannibals, lol. Just couldn't get into it. But glad you and the folks that did liked it.

But glad you and the folks that did liked it. If they named it something else so it wasn't connected to the original series what would you think then? Like for me, the Man-Thing movie is a horrible Man-Thing movie, but as a generic horror film of any other name, Swamp Beast, Land of the Native Dead, Bob, etc., it's a pretty good flick.

I probably would have liked it had it not been a Wrong Turn movie. The name lead me to expect certain things, just kind of disappointed when it wasn't in line with the previous movies. Didn't want a remake, was thinking just more of an amped up movie along the same lines as the original.

It might be a film you'd like once getting past that initial issue.
