This is a British film made by Ealing Studios that was responsible for Dead of Night. It was made in the Second World War. It might seem very British to many viewers. It's an odd thing. archive.org/details/thh77545435

Just looked up Ealing Studios wiki, they've made a lot of movies, including Shaun of the Dead. Mostly older films, but lots of them for sure.
Oh, and Dead of Night was almost too British in spots with the accents. We almost had to turn captions on in parts, lol. I'm sure it's the same here with some accents sometimes.

The accents many of them have are outdated now, they sound very upper class. There is a scene at a railway station where two Welsh porters are speaking in a broad Welsh accent. Try that. There is a "trailer" on youtube someone has made, but don't watch it as it gives away the plot. The innkeeper and his daughter are played by actual father and daughter Mervyn Johns and Glynis Johns. The Welsh accent is very musical I find. Glynis Johns appears in the film The Vault of Horror, I'm sure you will remember her as the bullied wife of the Terry Thomas character, the ending of the segment she is in is memorable. If people are confused when the daughter first appears as to what she is saying, she is speaking Welsh, Bore Da!

Glynis John's segment is probably my favorite in The Vault of Horror. Thought she played the role great. Their accents were fine, actually soothing in a way. Some, I just can't understand a word, it's weird.
