Probably best known for her blood curdling screams in 1933's King Kong, Fay Wray was also in Dr. X in 1932, The Vampire Bat in 1933 and Mystery of the Wax Museum in 1933. Peter Jackson actually wanted her to have a cameo in the 2005 re-make of King Kong, but she passed away at the age of 96 before shooting began. A pioneer for females in the horror genre in the post silent film era, and definitely worthy of a spot on this list.

And immortalized in song....Rocky Horror Picture Show...twice.
Science Fiction Double Feature..."Then something went wrong for Fay Wray and King Kong, they got caught in a celluloid jam."
Fanfare/Don't Dream It, Be It; (Sung by Frank N. Furter) "Whatever happened to Fay Wray? That delicate, satin draped frame? As it clung to her thigh, how I started to cry...cuz I wanted to be dressed just the same."

Ah, see...I wouldn't have known that. Not one of my favorite movies, lol. But thanks for the added info and the post.

One of the original Scream Queens. Forever immortalized as King Kong's bride. The beauty that killed the beast.
I think I've watched one other role she played, but not in anything memorable.
Still deserves a place in the horror movie hall of fame.

She was in a British film The Clairvoyant, from 1935. The main role, a music hall performer who discovers he really can predict the future, was played by Claude Rains. We of course remember him from the James Whale directed Invisible Man, and the classic Lon Chaney Jr film The Wolf Man.

livingdeadgirl, I would like to say that now, 11 years after the original posts here, I have grown to appreciate The Rocky Horror Picture Show and actually like it very much. How could I not have loved Tim Curry in this? I don't get me sometimes.
