So, we're always having tastings at the store, and afterwards we're given credit for what ever was tasted. And, a lot of times there will be a couple of unopened bottles in each six pack left.
And since I'm a beer drinker, this works out well for me. So, we had a winter beers tasting and I was able to get about 7 different bottles to take home and try. Up right now is Widmer Brothers BRRR Seasonal Ale. The description on the bottle says "bold hop flavors, candy sweet finish". My beer of choice is Budweiser, so needless to say I'm not a big fan of hops. But, this a good beer for cold weather. Not heavy, but not light either. Not overpoweringly hoppy like an IPA, but definitely there. And the finish is nice. I wouldn't go so far as"candy sweet", but there is a semi sweet aftertaste. Overall, I like it. I could do a six pack of this on occasion.
Next is gonna be Goose Island's Mild Winter ale. I'll post back later on that one.
So, trying this one and it's almost the opposite end of the spectrum compared to the Widmer Brothers beer. It says "A Mild Beer Brewed With Rye". It's definitely mild. Almost too mild. Some flavor but not much. Typically a winter beer should be hearty and have body. This is neither. Not terrible, but not what I'd want if I were craving a winter brew.

Wish you could send a few of those beers my way.

I wish I could too, Tomas. I'd send you a nice little mix. It's funny, my boss told me yesterday not to forget my "homework", lol. I should be getting paid for drinking these.

Guess so. Gonna try one more and switch to Bud. My palate is all funky now and soon they'll all taste the same.

I find beer to taste like pig piss.

Some do, depending on the pig and the beer. I think Budweiser tastes marvelous, but I've been drinking it for a long time.

I'm a beer snob, so Budweiser is beneath me!
The best beer I ever had was this one from Scotland called "Skull Splitter." Had it once at the House of Brews and never had it again unfortunately.

Yeah. Most view Bud as swill, but I like it. Used to carry Skull Splitter at the other store I was at. I had actually forgotten about it until your post. Gonna have to see if I can still get it, I liked it too. Last winter beer for the day is Dominion's Baltic Porter. Now this is a winter brew!! Good body without being too malty or heavy. Good flavor, lightly hopped, and you can really taste the roasted barley. But again, not over the top with it, just the right amount. Of the three I had today, this one is my favorite. Now, if you'll excuse me, time for some swill.

If I'm going to drink a cheap beer, I'd rather have a Schlitz or Natural Ice.

You drink Bud over there? That's awesome. I'd have thought Newcastle or Bass or something. Cool deal man.
