"Amityville: The Evil Escapes" is the fourth installment of the original Amityville series, and is actually pretty good for just a made for TV sequel. It starts off with the Priests performing an exorcism on the house, trying to banish the demons in it once and for all, only to get injured and not have such luck at first. The older Priest eventually does get the demon to exit the house, but after the remaining items left behind by previous tenants get sold is a yard sale, a tall odd but unique looking antique lamp gets purchased as a gift to a relative in California, as the buyer gets cut real bad and has to go to the hospital, just after barely bumping into a sharp edge on that lamp. The relatives who receive that lamp in California then get all sorts of weird things happening, just like in the previous Amityville films. When a young Priest learns of that certain lamp getting bought, he looks into who bought it, then finds out who and where it was sent to, and tries calling their nuber, but is never able to get through. He eventually takes a trip out there to stop and get rid of that lamp. This one keeps interest with the many different bizarre things happening back to back, being caused by that lamp, with the relatives who received it getting scared and confused, not knowing what is causing all those things to happen. The demon possessing that lamp also does what it can do to prevent the young Priest from making contact or getting over there. He is also unsure on how he should word it about that lamp they received being possessed, but by the time he does make contact, they had eventually realized that there is something abnormal about that lamp, along with something about it making the youngest daughter think her father's spirit is in there. This should definitely appeal to most who are into the first three of the original series.

I only like the original because it was based on an allegedly true story. The rest were simply movies.
