Okay here is the story I hyped up a friend about cannibal holocaust so they go out looking for it unfortunately they ended at block buster (I know, I didn't think they existed either.) But surprise its not there, so they call and I shoot out the first movie label I can read and say hard candy (damn that white and red contrast cover) well unfortunately hard candy and cannibal holocaust are not in the same genre so hanging up I realize what I just did and of coarse I hear "movie was okay but not my type of movie". So now I owe em and I'm burning a copy of cannibal holocaust and human centipede 2 (HD versions cuz I roll like that). Anywho this is my question or where I need help I need some scare your pants off movies that you don't have to spend hours searching for online. The damn thing about this is these people have the balls to say their favorite scary movie is the exorcist (who really picks the scariest movie ever as their favorite)
So here are the guidelines. 1 must be able to rent this movie or buy it at a best buy. 2 they like paranormal type flicks (Catholics&Christians) 3 bloody and gore if you can see it that's a plus. 4 when you see it, it makes you sick is even better. 5 must be scary! like check the closet, lock the doors twice before bed scary.

So I'm not the only person that doesn't know what a scary movie is anymore? What about this hatchet flick I heard it mentioned here is it a scary film or just a slasher?

Just a very gory slasher. A damn good one that has horror icons and uses practical effects, but again, just a slasher.
