I think it's stupid not to legalize marijuana. Legalize it, treat it like alcohol, and tax the ish out of it. That ends a lot of crime, a lot of revenue spent on weed stings and undercover work.
People would buy a pack of Marlboro Highs every day. There's how you wipe out the deficit. Make weed legal and tax it.

If you allow weed to be legal then you will have to worry about the next drug. Medical reasons seem fair if it helps people. I really don't care either way its not like ill smoke it.

But weed is the only "drug" that isn't addictive. It doesn't make you rob people or turn you into a zombie. Cigarettes are more addictive, and do more damage to you than marijuana does. And look at the gold mine they'd be sitting on if they did legalize it. And look at the money and resources freed up if it were legal. I don't smoke it, but I have no issue at all with legalizing it, especially if it means the deficit gets reduced and the economy get's strong again. I wouldn't say legalize heroin or cocaine or anything like that, but marijuana? Sure, why not. I think a lot more people smoke it than most realize. And I think they'd pay well to do so legally. |
