I need to read this. Can buy a paperback at CVS if I don't find it at SA/GW by September. Or get it through Amazon with Anansi Boys.
Anyhoo, looking forward to this. If you all haven't read it, check out Brooks' book The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From The Living Dead.

The ZSG is more of a spoof book anyway, all tongue in cheek and some good little moments. Couldn't put it down reading it like I can't put down American Gods right now. Looking forward to WWZ, heard nothing but good about it.

Don't know why I would have said it looks like it sucks, haven't even gotten to watch a trailer yet. I guess cause I'm not a big Brad Pitt fan.

Oh my god, that was... wow. Friggin' swarming like killer ants!
I gotta read the book now before that comes out, but I think I'm gonna have to see that in theaters. That just looked interesting.

There was just so much going on in that trailer I have no idea what to make of it. I read the ZSG and WWZ and enjoyed both. I'll probably go see this though. All those swarming zombies made me think of a a fire ant documentary I watched one day when I could not sleep. THE SWARM...

I'll see it, won't be in theaters, but I'll see it. For those that have read it, or know, what's the deal with the zombies? I mean, what makes them the way they are? They're the fast type, like in 28 Days Later, so what happened to them to turn them?

The zombies follow basic logic. The plague started in a morgue and the fresher the corpse the faster the zombie. As they decompose they start losing their speed. As for how it started, I can't remember the exact thing.

Oh, ok. Well that makes sense that the fresher the faster, and the trailer looked pretty good. I wonder how much of the book they've left out or changed? I'd be none the wiser, so you and whoever else has read it will have to fill me in on the differences.

I only read the Zombie Survival Guide so far, and they represented zombies as slow, lumbering braindead carnivores, a la Romero.
I don't mind faster zombies when you think about the whole the fresher the faster idea, but this is a bit ridiculous. It sorta reminds me of the could monsters from Fantastic Four 2 and Green Lantern. At first it was impressive, but I don't know how much I'd like it on a second viewing or in the theater.
Dammit, I've talked myself into worrying.

I grew up on Romero zombies, so if it's a zombie flick, I expect to see the lumbering, plodding type. With 28 Days Later they had the "rage" thing, so it was OK with me that they were fast. One of the gripes I had about the Dawn remake was that the zombies were so fast, and it didn't seem to matter the state of the bodies, depending on the scenes. I don't know anything about this movie except the plot description and the trailer, so I'd have to see it to make a decision. Sounds OK, and the trailer looks good. But, I'd need to see the whole movie.
