"The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc." www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/carrieMarch of 2013.

That's... a bit creepy, in a Social Network sort of way.

Still don't see why it needed remade, again. But, the trailer doesn't look bad. And I think Julianne Moore will be great as Carries mom. Might be an alright watch. But, for as excited as I am for the Evil Dead remake, I'm at the other end of the spectrum for this one. Meh.

I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD. I have no issue renting it, just won't pay for it.

Oh, I'll rent it just to see. But, I'll probably still be asking myself why. There wasn't much to improve upon the original except maybe the graphics, and the remakes they did really didn't excel there to me. Hard to top a great original movie, but we'll see how they do I guess.

Looks watchable. Remakes are so damn popular because they are so easy to do. It comes from an already recognized source, so not much needs to be done.

I don't see why they needed to remake this AGAIN, but I'll probably check it out when it's on netflix or something.

Yup. I think Netflix is the way to go for this one. I doubt it'll be awful, but definitely not theater worthy.

I guess they wanted to tone down the poster a bit due to complaints? In all honesty though, this poster is better.

I can't buy someone who looks like that being a total social outcast. Feels like she's the one that would do the bullying.

That's why Sissy Spacek was so convincing in the original. She really looked the type of the outcast.
