I'm kind of interested in seeing this, but it was the trailer in the theater at The Evil Dead that did that, not this. I did think the interactive thing was kind of cool. I like stuff like that.

I still think this is a completely pointless remake. My girlfriend wants to see it because she likes Chloe, but I really could care less. I'm trying to convince her to wait for Netflix or Redbox.

"The 2013 version of Carrie is a more faithful adaptation of the Stephen King novel. Kimberly Peirce had nothing but respect and admiration for Brian De Palma's film. She didn't want to retread his story or attempt to make a "better" Carrie film. For inspiration, she went back to the source and followed the events as dictated in the novel." Here is the rest of the article: Carrie Set VisitI LOVE the novel. I did like De Palma's Carrie, but I am really excited to see what Peirce will do with this film.

King's novel is great and the first one by De Palma is where it should have stopped in my opinion. The remakes since have been pointless to me, and I don't see the reason this was made. That being said, this does have me intrigued, at least cast wise. I wouldn't waste the money seeing this in the theater personally, there's no way to improve the original story wise, so I'll wait for the DVD to see other actors play the parts because that's basically all this is... with updated graphics. Still didn't need to be done to me, but since it has been, I'll watch it.

One of the main reasons I don't even want to bother with this is because I didn't even enjoy the original film, so...yeah.

I'm probably going to download this since it's supposed to be more faithful to the source material and the novel was a fine read. I wasn't interested before but...that article kinda made me a tiny bit interested.

Here's my thing with this one, and Tomas and Scott already brought it up when this movie was first posted about. Yes Chloë Moretz is closer to the age of Carrie in the book. Spacek was 27 at the time of filming the original, but she was so plain and homely that she worked perfectly. Moretz may be younger, but she's also prettier. And like Tomas and Scott said, there's no way she'd be on the outside of the clique getting tormented. She might be the Sue Snell trying to help the outcast, or maybe in on the tormenting herself. But not the tormented one. So right there, even with her mom being a religious nut, I can't buy into it all the way. The ending of the original was great, and we've seen clips of at least part of the ending in the new one and they look basically the same to me, albeit with better effects and graphics. It's a different director with a different cast doing their take on a movie that didn't need remade. Not in 2002, or now...IMO. It looks OK to me, and I'll rent it. But I bet at the end I say the original was better. Not crapping on this, yet anyway... , but I still think it was unnecessary and that some movies don't need to be redone just to add modern graphics, which is all I can see was added to this.

I went to a high school where the most prettiest girl in the school got bullied. Just because she was slightly odd. Pretty or not, you get picked on for anything. It's cliche to say only ugly people get bullied. I don't think that 100% true now a days.

Ok, I can get that especially today. It has been some time since I've been in school, lol. Like I said, I'll be seeing this, just don't think it'll beat the original for me. Never know though.

The original is almost ALWAYS the best. But, given how kids in high school act, I'm glad this is being remade. Maybe teens will think twice before picking on someone. They might get all "Carrie" on your ass.
I think that should be the movies tag line lol

Sadly, kids will never learn and bullies will always be prevalent in school settings. Even moreso with the internet now.
