Anyone else into Nascar? To be honest, I hated it for the longest time. Thought it was just driving in a circle, and how talented do you have to be to do that? But, I got into it more and more, and now I realize that it's very hard to jockey a track with 40+ other drivers and win. I'm completely hooked. Even picked up Nascar 09 for the 360 cheap on E-Bay. I have found something to keep me busy til the NFL straightens itself out and the new season starts.
I don't have a favorite driver as yet, but I'm liking Dale Jr. more and more. Great stuff!!

I know most of the folks on here from the UK don't get to watch this awesome redneck sport we have here, lol. So, I wanted to tell you guys about a great race from a few weeks back. You know who Dale Earnhardt was right? Great driver, tragically killed at the Daytona 500 in 2001.
Anyway, his son Dale Jr., is a perennial favorite in every race. He's a good driver, a nice guy, and a legends son. But, he hasn't won in like the last 70 races.
So, a few weeks back, he's leading a tough race, with maybe 10 laps to go. I mean, he's way out in front. The commentators are already saying how long it's been since he won, and now he's broken the streak....and all of a sudden, with 1 lap to go, you hear his car dying. He ran out of gas 1000 feet from the finish line. He coasted in and finished 8th I think. Just a good beer piss more of fuel, and he'd have won it. Stuff like that happens often.

that's usually the case endo. just when you think you've got it in the bag, something happens. it's like a guy i know who's into drag racing. he built a car and has been improving it over a number of years. a couple of weeks back he took it out to the strip and a nut sheared off somewhere. cost him the race and a engine rebuild.

LOL that would have been awesome to see as earnhardt just slowly die as 7 cars fly by him! i use to watch it as a time killer when i was a tech but only in the breakroom never really kept up with it.. i do know the games are fun tho..

I have Nascar 09, the last Nascar game EA sports made, and it's a blast. The new Activision one looks sick though. Gotta pick that up.

I haven't played the Forza series either. Just really started getting into the Nascar game, and then lost all my saves, so now starting over from the beginning, but doing it right this time. Starting at the bottom and racing through the Craftsmen Truck series, then the Nationwide series and finally the Sprint Cup series.
Gonna take a while.

I've done it before, by accident, when I was drinking, lol. But, this was the systems fault, or so XBox live folks have said. That's what made me so mad.
If I ever get a wheel and pedal thing, I'll definitely give Forza a try. Heck, I bet the Nascar game is a blast with a wheel.

depends on the game it usually gives you a bit more control (gas, steering) you really have to have a place to set yourself up you don't want to have the steering wheel in your lap just doesnt work out to well

I'll check E-bay for one, that would be bad ass. Especially for cheap.
