Last To Surrender
A knockoff Red Heat that was a product of its time starring Roddy Piper.

Samurai Avenger: The Blind Wolf
I get what they were going for here and I appreciate it, but this ain't a good movie. Shot on Video has come a long way since the late 80s anyone can really be a actor, director or writer these days.

X
I love that they went for an oldschool approach but the main villians had no personality and were completely unmemorable. I was really excited to hear about X because I love these kind of movies and I love Ti Wests first 2 movies The Roost and House of the Devil. Unfortunately X does not hold a candle to his earlier work.

I watched X a little while back and, just didn't do it for me. The premise was good, but nothing clicked for me. And what was with that thing in the lake? They never explained that and it felt like it just didn't fit the movie. Oh well, a lot of folks really liked it, but it wasn't for me.

They never explained that and it felt like it just didn't fit the movie. Oh weel, a lot of folks really liked it, but it wasn't for me. The alligator? That was the best kill for me. If only the old couple were more memorable it would've been so much better. Retro throwback horror is my favorite genre as far as new stuff so this was right up my alley but still overall a disappointment. Check out Ti West's first 2 movies. Way better indeed

Didn't even get that it was an alligator, I just assumed based on the old couple that it something evil, I don't know, lol.
I've never watched any of his TV shows he's done, but The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers were alright. Don't know, X just wasn't for me.

8mm
I forgot how fakked up this movie was. I can see why it's garnered a cult following all these years.

Top Gun: Maverick
I'd only seen parts of the original during a high school lock-in during my freshman year.. lol.. so I had to watch the original first before going to see that.

I liked the original OK ✶April✶. Cheesy, but pretty good. From what I'm hearing about the new one it's pretty good too. Don't know if I'll ever see it, not a Tom Cruise fan, but sounds like a lot of folks like it.

Yeah, I'd say it was a pretty good movie. Definitely kept me interested, lots of action in there too. We probably won't be going to the theatre for awhile now though. I was going to get tickets for the new Thor movie that came out yesterday, until I saw the increase in prices... $21 for one person. That's just not worth it, lol. We usually get popcorn and drinks too so would have been like $70 altogether. We'll just wait a few weeks for it to come out for streaming on Disney+ like they did for the newest Doctor Strange movie.

Holy crap ✶April✶, $21 is crazy for a ticket to see a movie. Reminds me why I never go to the theater. Haven't been since 2013 and that was only because it was the remake of Evil Dead. The prices plus the people, no thanks. I'm fine watching whatever we want to see at home.

I wouldn't even pay that much to own it. Only certain films are worth more than 20 bucks.

I mean, I understand that they lost a bunch of money due to the pandemic also, but there's a point that I have to draw the line when the pricing gets ridiculous. I'll miss the movie theatre experience though, it's just not the same at my house... lol. Oh well.
